Durga Puja
Durga Puja is a grand Bengali festival that celebrates the goddess Durga and the victory of light over darkness. Originating in Bengal, it has grown into a vibrant community celebration that brings families and friends together to honor tradition, art, music, and devotion. For our Charlotte-area community, Durga Puja is more than a ritual; it’s a joyful expression of cultural heritage and shared values, steadfast in simplicity, inclusivity, and hospitality. The festival usually unfolds in the weeks surrounding the autumn calendar, culminating in moments of communal prayers, festive processions, and joyous reunions. At utsob.org, we bring this time-honored tradition to life here in Charlotte and the Carolinas, with a welcoming atmosphere for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate, learn, and rejoice together.
